Introducing......ME!

Reality is created from the goals of your consciousness and the dreams of your subconscious
                                                       ~ Alanye (me:)

I was born and raised in Southwest Detroit, MI. Currently; I am finishing my second Masters in Educational Technology at Michigan State University, while being a resident of New Haven, CT. My first Master's degree is in Telecommunication, Information Studies, and Media, where I specialized in Serious Game Design and User Experience. My plans after this degree are to continue my research in popular culture (comics, video games, film, and television) and to apply for PhD programs in Media Studies hopefully starting Fall 2015.

Professionally, I am a graphic and web designer for entrepreneurs, startup companies, and small businesses. I also am program coordinator in Detroit, MI called S.A.V.E.T.H.E.M, whose sole purpose is to aid in the education and prevention of AIDS/HIV, STD, and teen pregnancy to adolescents. Recently, I worked as a research associate for the Emergency Medicine department at Yale University, and before that as program coordinator at Wayne State University in the Office of Housing and Residential Life.

In my spare time, I like to work on improving my culinary skills, exercise, and travel when I can. You can usually catch me at a movie theater at least twice a week, and at all the midnight shows which are not like 7pm Thursday shows; I like to stay update. I love doing research! My master’s thesis for my first master’s was, Stereotypes of the black male image in video games. Since then I have been continuing my research in popular culture in comics, film, television, and video games. My latest research is, Roll Call: Stereotypes and Underrepresentation in Marvel and DC Comics. Hopefully, when I get more time, I will be able to get back into bowling on a regular, and working on acquiring a bowling rings...it will make sense later.
